BROWNFILMMAKERS SHOWCASE KICKS OFF THE 2010 AWARD SEASON BROWN FILMMAKERS SHOWCASE Screening/ Cocktail Reception January 12, 2010 6:30pm-9:30pm Helen Mills Theatre 137-139 West 26th Street
Without a doubt, Brown University has produced some of the most talented mindsin film, television, and entertainment. Please join us as we celebrate thiswealth of talent with a special screening event and cocktail reception. A special panel portion has been added to theevent. The panel will feature alumni currentlyworking in the entertainment industry who will provide the audience with a trueinsider’s perspective**.
Brown Filmmakers is an on-going effort to recognize and showcase the work ofBrown alumni working in the areas of film and entertainment. Previous events have featured award-winningfilmmakers such as Liz Garbus, Bill Lichtenstein, and Amy Gossels in additionto attracting the likes of Doug Liman and John Krasinski. Many of the filmsselected have gone on to greater glory at prominent film festivals likeSundance and others have made their way to the small screen.
Join us for food, wine, and amazing films. Great chance to network with alumni working in the entertainmentindustry or simply enjoy great cinema.

Kung Fu Pandas & Superhero Canines A Special Conversation Event with Kristina Reed ‘87 Vice President, Production, Walt Disney Animation Studios With the success of Toy Story, the face of animated films changed forever. In a little over than a decade, traditional 2D cell animation has become replaced with computer generated images and the animated feature film business has exploded into multi-billion dollar industry. Join us as Kristina Reed, VP, Production at Walt Disney Animation Studios and former Production Executive at Dreamworks Animation, guides us through the creation of the modern feature animated film. Drawing from Kung Fu Panda and Bolt as case studies, Kristina will take us step by step through both the creative and production process and then answer questions for those of us who still wonder what they feed the animals on the render farm. Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Studio City7:15p sign-in. Conversation begins promptly at 7:30
The event is $5 to all Brown alums and free to recent grads ('08, '09). Brown alums are welcome to bring 1 guest to the Conversation. If you are interested in attending, you must RSVP online at conversation.bueg.org. In order to keep the events intimate and personal, the number of guests is limited and RSVPs are required.

"Conversation" is a speaker series designed for high profile Brown alumni to share their experience and knowledge to help educate and inspire fellow Brown alumni.
