The Brown University Entertainment Group (BUEG) is dedicated to supporting and promoting the network of Brown alumni working within the Los Angeles entertainment community. As both resource and forum, BUEG serves graduates of all years by sponsoring programs and events designed to facilitate the exchange of artistic, educational and business opportunities. Founded in 2002, The Brown University Entertainment Group is operated by alumni working in the entertainment industry, with a membership consisting of professionals from a variety of artistic, technical and executive positions. Our ongoing programs include: - CONVERSATIONS
A monthly series of moderated question-and-answer sessions with prominent alumni. Guests so far have included writers, directors, producers, agents, managers, and development executives. - MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Alumni pursuing careers in the industry are matched with established professional mentors. - ACTORS PEER GROUP
A monthly opportunity for performers of all experience levels to share questions, advice, and war stories. - WRITERS PEER GROUP
A biweekly forum for film and television writers to share work and offer constructive feedback.
- FILMMAKERS’ SCREENING SERIES
A filmmakers’ show-and-tell where alumni present everything from blockbusters to pet projects and address the challenges and craft of filmmaking.
- FILM FESTIVAL
A forum for Brown alumni filmmakers to showcase their work and network with other professionals in the entertainment industry.
- SPECIAL PANELS
Roundtable discussions addressing a specialized area of interest with experienced and well-established alumni working in the industry. - SOCIAL EVENTS
A chance to network and mingle in some of the city’s finest watering holes.
